High School English I focuses on student comprehension and composition of informational, persuasive, and literary texts. Students exercise critical thinking as they engage with American and world literature, building oral (speaking/listening) and written response skills, with special focus on literary analysis and argumentation to ensure proficiencies needed for college/career readiness.
